Matrouh Mosque

Project I designed in Unii engineering consultancy in 2018 

The main aspect of the design is to create a serene space with minimal elements and textures. A solid base contrasts with large openings ornated with Islamic patterns, providing a well lit interior. An open courtyard eclosed by an archade is a vital part of the design giving a sense of containment as well as directonality. A modern approch to traditional Islamic elements has been adopted to create a decorative yet simple style.
